o get to Lassitor's Sanctum you must first enter the caves underneath the castle, then you have to cross a makeshift bridge. The bridge crosses a three-pace hole that blocks the entire width of the narrow corridor that leads to Lassitor's sleeping quarters. As you enter the room you will notice a sparsely decorated room. At the far end there is a fading tapestry of a mountain valley. Behind the tapestry is a small bed, with only thin sheets on it. To the right of the entrance is plain woven rug with a table and three chairs on it. There is no visible means of light in this room.

You may step in to a corridor that leads to the left...

As is the custom of House Criamon, Lassitor has covered his face and hands with strange arcane symbols. These symbols only add to the bizarre appearance of the young Magus, for the Gift is very apparent in him. He has long unkempt white hair, although he has taken great care to keep his face free of hair. He stands at medium height and build though he does not look it. You mistake him for a weakling, though he truly is not. Lassitor is often seen wandering about in strange places, especially the places that locals consider taboo or even haunted.

Laboratory

There is a faint glow coming from the corridor on the left of the main entrance. As you begin to walk down the corridor, you can see one long counter covered with jars and bowls. When you enter the room you can make out two small tables that are covered with various rocks and sand. Each table seems to be fixed to the ground, with wooden doors on them to keep in contents that are stored underneath. The walls are covered with shelves of various sizes and shapes. Some of these shelves have doors and some do not. On the shelves that have no doors you can see more jars, bowls, and some papers. At one end of the long counter there is a small but comfortable chair. The room is lit by one torch that hangs just over the chair.

The lab has a specialty of instilling vis, and a risk modifier of +1.

Background: Born in 1074 A.D. to Frank and Gelda Leon, Octavos was the third of three sons. From birth, everyone could sense that there was something different about Octavos. He had weird green eyes, and just his presence gave everyone the creeps. So much so, that Frank's inn started to lose business, and he owned the only inn in all of Vannes. To save his business and to put the town folk at ease, Frank gave Octavos to a passing Magus, the only person who seemed to like the young boy. The Magus was Biraben of House Merinita of the Covenant Loire-Inféieure, who took Octavos on as his apprentice at age eight. Biraben gave Octavos his Hermetic name, Lassitor, which he still goes by. Near the end of Lassitor's apprenticeship Biraben took him into a faerie regio, but something went wrong. When they entered, Biraben was lost, leaving Lassitor trapped. He was in the regio for what seemed like one year to him, but it was really one hundred years. There were other humans trapped with him, but when another Magus found him and tried to release the captives, only Lassitor survived. His survival can be attributed to his Gift, but his exit from the regio caused him to undergo a temporary Twilight, leaving him susceptible to faerie powers and turning his hair white.

Outside the regio and suffering a Twilight, it was some time before Lassitor could easily communicate with anyone. Once Lassitor was recovered he told his story of how he became trapped within the regio, and asked his savior, the Magus Gougod, to complete his training. Gougod seemed skeptical of Lassitor's tale, and made this known to him, but sensing that Lassitor had a true interest in House Criamon, agreed to take him on. In two short years Lassitor finished his apprenticeship and in 1196 he left Loire-Inféieure to help start a remote Covenant in the Rhine Tribunal. The idea of Rabenstein greatly pleased Gougod and Lassitor left with his blessing.

Lassitor and the Other Members of Rabenstein: Lassitor feels that Rabinstein is the almost perfect place for himself; it is far enough into the wilderness that he might run into strange and magical creatures, yet it is close enough to civilization that he can get the suppies he needs without too much trouble.

Lassitor respects Capra for his beleifs and abilities, and envies the freedom from the Covenant that he exercises.

Merento spends too much time in his lab, worrying about the powers that might be coming to destory him. If he'd get out more and study these powers that he fears...He's too full of himself!

Cynric's control over the elements is well documented. His desire for knowledge is admirable, though he is somewhat foolhardy.

Julian is good at dealing with nobles and any diplomatic events. He has talked our way out of many sticky moments.

Magda is a young Bjornaer who is learning fast, and growing stronger daily. She is quite driven once she set her mind on a task.

Gustav left us the traitor.

Melnik: He's dead. No great loss.
